The SAYC story
The San Antonio Youth Chorale (SAYC ... pronounced SAY-see) is a community-based student choir engaging students from across San Antonio and well beyond. It is SAYC’s mission to share the beauty of choral music, team cooperation, cross-cultural convergence, and inclusiveness with any student who will benefit from the program.
Founded by YouthCUE in 2013, SAYC has already enjoyed a colorful history in its now ten-year existence. Not only have SAYC students developed their leadership skills, learned how to participate in world-class musical events, and traveled across the United States on summer tours, but they have also had the opportunity to sing in eight YouthCUE-Baylor Festivals, sing four times at the Washington National Cathedral, and participated in four LOOK AT THE WORLD Concerts, accompanied by the San Antonio Symphony, the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra, and the Baylor Symphony.
One of the many benefits of singing in SAYC is having the opportunity to try out for YouthCUE’s National Honor Choir and CUE Choral Ambassadors. SAYC is all about helping students grow musically, spiritually, socially, in compassion, empathy, and sensitivity to all people around us.
